Nominator's project description
| Dr. Marc Legros is a recognized expert in the realm of microstructure characterization in relationship to materials properties. His overall achievements are the development of innovative techniques and their applications to micromechanical testing of engineering materials at the nanoscale. Dr. Marc Legros is an acknowledged leader in the field of in-situ TEM investigations, especially for dynamical studies on dislocation and grain boundary mobility. During his stay in Germany, he intends to focus on the micro/nanomechanics of natural and artificial nanocomposites, and to deepen his studies on dislocation structures and pipe diffusion by utilizing atomic resolution STEM imaging in an advanced analytical TEM/STEM system recently installed at INM. |
